Overview
Migori County is a county in the former Nyanza Province of southwestern Kenya. It borders Homa Bay County to the north, Kisii County to the northeast, Narok County to the southeast, Tanzania to the west and south, and Lake Victoria to the west. The county also borders Uganda via Migingo Island in Lake Victoria.
Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up at 6 AM for a road transfer to Thimlich Ohinga.Breakfast stopover in Homabay.Thimlich Ohinga is a pre-historic site that features rock dwellings, forts, and living places, that depict the early lifestyle of the people who settled at the site during the early Luo migration and settlement in South Nyanza. It is a UNESCO world heritage site.Transfer to Migori after this excursion.Migori Night life.Dinner and overnight at Calabash hotel Migori.
Day 2: After breakfast depart for Macalder Gold mining field.The macalder gold mines are located in Nyatike. You can visit the place to have a glimpse of how small scale artisan gold mining happens.After Macalder depart for Muhuru Beach, a picturesque fishing village in Migori County, on the shores of Lake Victoria near the frontier with Tanzania. It is a nice place to visit for photography sessions, fishing expeditions, and sightseeing adventures.Dinner and vernight in Calabash hotel.
Day 3: Depart for Kisumu after breakfast. Stop over at Lake Simbi Nyaima for a brief excursion.
