3 Days 2 Nights Mt Kasigau-Lake Chala-Lake Jipe- Mzima springs Ex Nairobi

Mount Kasigau is a hidden gem located in Taita-Taveta County, Kenya. It’s an off-the-beaten-path destination that offers a challenging hike with stunning rewards. The 3-day expedition involves hiking Mt Kasigau, swimming in Lake Chala, sleeping in Lake Jipe, game drive in Tsavo National reserve and visit to Mzima Springs.

Day 1 : Nairobi – Voi – Mt Kasigau:
We will leave Nairobi for Mt Kasigau at 5:00 a.m. We are expected to arrive by 2:00 p.m., making stops in Distinct, Emali and Voi. We finish our day at the Mt Kasigau base camp, where we will have dinner and sleep in tents. We will wake up early the next day to hike to avoid the heat.

Day 2: Hike Mt Kasigau – Lake Chala – Lake Jipe:
We will wake up at 2:30 a.m and start the hike at 3:00 a.m. The hike starts in the dry savannah plains, slowly transitioning into a lush green montane forest as you gain altitude. The hike typically takes 5-6 hours to finish the hike. The Mt Kasigau rises to an elevation of 1800mts. On the summit you will get to experience views of Taru desert and Tsavo East and West National Parks. We will finish the hike at 10:00 a.m, have breakfast, pack our bags and leave for Lake Chala. The drive to Lake Chala takes 2 hours where we will have lunch on arrival. We will swim and boat ride in in Lake Chala while enjoying the sunset. Later on, we will leave for Lake Jipe where we will spend the night.

Day 3: Lake Jipe – Mzima Springs – Nairobi
We will wake at 7:00 a.m have breakfast and leave Lake Jipe at 9:00 a.m. We will have a gamedrive at Tsavo West National park to mzima springs. After spending the time at mzima springs we will have lunch and leave for Nairobi.
